We Know Government
In today’s political environment, broadly based proactive programs are needed to create the necessary ingredients and momentum for change. Government agendas are packed with issues that need attention. Decision makers have only so much time to deal with matters before them. We work proactively with our clients, governments, stakeholders and other interested parties to create an environment for change to occur.
Information is key. First, we research – reviewing published materials, talking to those in the know and analyzing what this means. Our analysis brings significant value added for our clients. Having worked on hundreds of public policy issues, we know how the system works and how to engage decision makers to succeed.
It’s all about the strategy. Our strategies are substantive, well-thought out and detailed. They include a focus on who should be communicated with, and how to build support amongst decision-makers and influencers. It takes creativity, precision and clarity to create the right kind of public support.

We Know Messaging
In today’s complex world, change is often difficult to engineer. There’s always a suspicion that one’s gain is another’s loss. With an ability to sway public opinion for or against change, news media is frequently the sponsor to controversy. Controlling the message is key.
Our work often leads us to organize stakeholders to garner broader support for our clients’ needs. It means working with the news media to bring to light issues – both in pursuing opportunities and in balancing debate when opponents engage in tactics that are not in our clients’ best interests.
We Know Diversity & Board Governance
Since 1998 when The Jeffery Group launched the Women’s Executive Network (WXN), the firm has built considerable expertise in diversity and board governance. Working with sector leaders to support their diversity initiatives to increase the number of women in management and on boards of directors, The Jeffery Group brings its advocacy and community-building skills to WXN clients in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. In 2003, we created and launched Canada’s preeminent national awards program for women that spans the private, public and not-for-profit sectors and recognizes leaders in a variety of professional pursuits (Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100). In addition, Pamela Jeffery is well-versed in corporate governance in the broader public and not-for-profit sectors having served on 14 boards and governance committees.
We Know People
Our Executive Search practice is unique in three ways. First, each assignment is supervised by President & CEO Pamela Jeffery, hailed by The Globe and Mail as “one of the country’s most well-connected executives.” Pamela’s hands-on involvement contributes significantly to a successful outcome. We guarantee the search will be completed successfully - we will not bring the assignment to a close until the right candidate has accepted a client’s offer. Second, our national network gives us the ability to consider a wide variety of qualified applicants from across the country. In this way, each client is assured the most highly qualified men and women will be considered for the position. Third, unlike traditional search firms, we often have established relationships with our clients. We therefore begin with an understanding of the client’s organization which helps ensure we are able to recruit a candidate who is an excellent fit within a team and within the organization.
